The Challenge

In 1999, A.C.E. Thatch & Bamboo, Inc. was asked by a large entertainment company to design, engineer and build an entranceway for an African-themed wooden roller coaster to be built in a Theme Park in Tampa, Florida. The entrance required several Thatch Huts, extensive Rope Lashing and Fencing. Due to the scope of the project and the extensive space the construction would cover, the challenge for A.C.E. Thatch & Bamboo, Inc. was to Thatch almost all of the structures off-site. An additional challenge for A.C.E. Thatch & Bamboo, Inc. was to complete the project in a very short time frame.

The Solution The A.C.E. Thatch & Bamboo, Inc. team located a nearby field that was large enough to accommodate Thatching construction. The structures were built in the field, and then A.C.E. Thatch & Bamboo, Inc. had them lifted by crane and strategically placed onto the jobsite. The Result The project was finished ahead of schedule and according to specifications. Moreover, because of A.C.E. Thatch & Bamboo, Inc.'s ingenious building method, ongoing construction the Theme Park was not interrupted.
